It will consist of the construction of a small dam across the lower end of Luner Lake (Lunersee) to increase its storage capacity, the diversion of the run-off of a glacier into the lake, and the construction of 9.7 kilometers of tunnels, siphons, and penstocks to convey water from the lake to a new power-house in which five generating and five pumping units will be installed. The Austrian benefits will include: additional power facilities with which to satisfy the demands in Vorarlberg and Tirol, and the benefits to the German power will include: the availability of 127,000 kw of additional power for use at periods of peak demand at a cost of about 17 per kilowatt-year (a very cheap cost) and the sale of some of their off peak energy to the project for pumping.

<wbfeed:country_name>Austria</wbfeed:country_name><wbfeed:projectid>P037350</wbfeed:projectid><wbfeed:country_code>AT</wbfeed:country_code><wbfeed:project_status_desc>NEW RELEASE</wbfeed:project_status_desc><wbfeed:flag>NEW</wbfeed:flag>

The project Electric Power Project is now in the pipeline.

<p>The project Electric Power Project is now in the pipeline. The project consists of the construction of a system of dams, reservoirs, tunnels, and other civil works in the Reisseck and Kreuzeck Mountains for the collection, storage, and delivery of water to the main powerhouse located on the Moell River. The dam structure will have a total length of 496 meters and would consist of a weir section, a power house, two locks, and an operational building. The power house will be equipped with four generating units with a total capacity of 264 kv. The four transformers will be located on a platform on the downstream side of the power house and connected with the switching station on the right bank by cables. A 34 kilometer double circuit 220 kv transmission line and a new switching station at Lambach will provide the connection between the Aschach plant and the Verbundgesellschaft (V.G.) network. This project will provide a substantial amount of energy to meet the base load requirements in the system and help to maintain an economic balance between hydro and thermal generation. Compared with an alternative thermal plant, the additional investment required for the hydro installation is justified.

<wbfeed:country_name>Austria</wbfeed:country_name><wbfeed:projectid>P037355</wbfeed:projectid><wbfeed:country_code>AT</wbfeed:country_code><wbfeed:project_status_desc>NEW RELEASE</wbfeed:project_status_desc><wbfeed:flag>NEW</wbfeed:flag>

The project Industrial Financing Project is now in the pipeline.

<p>The project Industrial Financing Project is now in the pipeline. This project will finance IVK long-term loans for the expansion and modernization of industry. The need for such an institution as IVK in Austria, already an industrialized country, arises primarily from the absence of an adequate capital market to which industry, particularly small and medium-sized, can turn for funds. It will enable IVK to maintain the tempo of its operations while at the same time providing additional time for it to establish its credit in private capital markets.

<wbfeed:country_name>Austria</wbfeed:country_name><wbfeed:projectid>P037357</wbfeed:projectid><wbfeed:country_code>AT</wbfeed:country_code><wbfeed:project_status_desc>NEW RELEASE</wbfeed:project_status_desc><wbfeed:flag>NEW</wbfeed:flag>

The project Industrial Financing Project is now in the pipeline.

<p>The project Industrial Financing Project is now in the pipeline. During the two years since its establishment, the IVK has been successful in increasing its equity and total available resources to provide for a further modest expansion of lending. The staff, although small, has demonstrated its ability to make sound project appraisals. There is reason to expect that the IVK can stand on its own and play a useful role in the Austrian capital market. In these circumstances, the IVK is a suitable borrower for a Bank loan on the condition that the total long-tem indebtedness should not exceed an amount equal to 3.5 times the sum of its unimpaired capital, reserves, and the outstanding amount of the ERP Counterpart Fund loan.

<wbfeed:country_name>Austria</wbfeed:country_name><wbfeed:projectid>P037356</wbfeed:projectid><wbfeed:country_code>AT</wbfeed:country_code><wbfeed:project_status_desc>NEW RELEASE</wbfeed:project_status_desc><wbfeed:flag>NEW</wbfeed:flag>

The project Power Project is now in the pipeline.

<p>The project Power Project is now in the pipeline.
